Emedastine is a prescription medication used to temporarily treat the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis. Emedastine belongs to a group of drugs called antihistamines. These work by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.

This medication comes in a solution to be instilled into the eyes and is usually used up to 4 times a day. 

Common side effects of emedastine include headache and burning or stinging in the eye.

Emedastine can also cause blurred vision. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how emedastine affects you.

Emedastine is a prescription medication used to temporarily treat the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis. Allergic conjunctivitis refers to when the covering the white of the eye (conjunctiva) becomes swollen or inflamed due to an allergic reaction to pollen, animal dander, mold, or other allergy-causing substances.
