David J. Scott, RPh, PharmD, MBA

Dr. David J. Scott graduated from the University of Iowa with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) in 2007. After graduation he worked for Wester Drug in Muscatine, IA, as a clinical pharmacist for three years. In 2010, Dr. Scott started working for UnityPoint Health - Trinity in Rock Island, IL, as an IT pharmacist focusing on hospital projects related to Pyxis, Pharmogistics, EPIC, and Omnicell. During this time, Dr. Scott also graduated from the University of Iowa with a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 2012. In 2015, Dr. Scott returned home to Fayette, IA, to work with his father, Jeff Scott, at Scott Pharmacy.

Dr. Scott has focused his career in the area of independent community pharmacy practice with an emphasis on automation and pharmacy informatics. He has experience in compounding, immunizations, medication therapy management (MTM), and long-term care. Dr. Scott currently works as a clinical pharmacist at Scott Pharmacy and helps coordinate the MTM services. In 2007, Scott Pharmacy was recognized by MemberHealth, Inc., as one of the top five pharmacies in the nation for demonstrating exemplary patient care, effecting the best patient outcomes and managing patients’ prescription drug spend.
