Vaccine Myths - Busted!
Babies are exposed to germs as soon as they’re born, but the immune system is very good at fighting against bacteria and viruses. This myth has become more of a concern with the recent increases in the number of recommended vaccines, as well as the availability of multiple vaccines included in one shot. As a result many parents have chosen to “spread out” the time periods between vaccinations. There is no evidence that spreading out the time between vaccinations decreases the risk of adverse reactions, or that multiple vaccinations may overwhelm the child’s immune system. Delaying vaccines can increase the child’s susceptibility to disease that can otherwise be prevented by vaccination.
