COPD and Depression

Depression is also common in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Some research has shown that as much as 40 percent of those with COPD experience depression symptoms or clinical depression, which is often related to these patients’ reduced quality of life. Depression can be difficult to diagnose in COPD patients because symptoms of depression and symptoms of COPD overlap.
