Vyepti is used to prevent migraine headaches.
Vyepti Overview
Vyepti is a prescription medication used to prevent migraine headaches in adults.
This medication belongs to a group of drugs called humanized monoclonal antibodies. It works by blocking calcitonin gene-related peptide, or CGRP, a substance in your brain that is thought to play a role in triggering migraine.
Vyepti is given directly into a vein (IV) every 3 months. The infusion lasts 30 minutes.
Common side effects include stuffy nose, scratchy throat and allergic reactions.

Vyepti Precautions
Vyepti may cause serious side effects, including:
Allergic reactions. Allergic reactions can happen after receiving Vyepti. Call your healthcare provider or get emergency medical help right away if you have any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction:
- rash
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat
- trouble breathing
- hives
- redness in your face
Do not receive Vyepti if you are allergic to eptinezumab-jjmr or any of the ingredients in Vyepti.
Vyepti Food Interactions
Medications can interact with certain foods. In some cases, this may be harmful and your doctor may advise you to avoid certain foods. In the case of Vyepti, there are no specific foods that you must exclude from your diet when receiving this medication.
Inform MD
Before you receive Vyepti, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:
- are pregnant
- are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
Vyepti and Pregnancy
Tell your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if Vyepti will harm your unborn baby.
Vyepti and Lactation
Tell your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Vyepti passes into your breast milk. Talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby while using Vyepti.
Vyepti Usage
- Vyepti will be given by a healthcare provider in a healthcare setting.
- Vyepti is given by intravenous (IV) infusion in your vein.
- Vyepti will be given over 30 minutes every 3 months.
If you have questions about your infusion schedule, ask your healthcare provider.
Vyepti Dosage
Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully.
The dose your doctor recommends may be based on the following:
- the condition being treated
- other medical conditions you have
- other medications you are taking
- how you respond to this medication
The recommended Vyepti dosage is 100 mg administered by intravenous infusion every 3 months. Your healthcare provider may increase your dosage to 300 mg administered by intravenous infusion every 3 months.
Vyepti Overdose
Vyepti is administered by a healthcare provider in a medical setting. It is unlikely that an overdose will occur. However, if an overdose is suspected, seek emergency medical attention.
